This all began with my wife planting a seed— and, if I’m being honest, thinking a little too highly of her husband (me) when she suggested we build our own tiny house.
From raw land to our first guest, it took us 16 months—working mostly weekends—to bring it to life.
Most people blog about their progress while they’re in the middle of a project. But when you’re in the thick of it—grinding, building, and figuring things out as you go—the last thing on your mind is stopping to write about it. You’re just focused on the work.
If others enjoy reading these posts, that’s a blessing. But the real purpose behind this is for our daughters and close friends—the ones who have supported us from the very beginning. The goal is to document as much as we can throughout 2026… we’ll see how I do.
We were very intentional with everything we did at Casita #1. We took a risk, believed in each other, and most of all, poured our hearts and souls into this project. Our hope is that anyone who chooses to stay here feels that—feels the love, the care, and the positive energy during their stay.
Let us begin…
After a few months of researching, planning, and creating a floor plan, we officially broke ground on our 400 sq ft tiny house—Casita #1—on March 6, 2022.
Over time, my wife has become a true plant lover. Pair that with my appreciation for trees, and it only made sense to prioritize our irrigation system before we even began building the casita

Our first tree’s planted…
